Woman Says Local Bridal Shop Has Never Been Open for Decades, Sparking Conspiracy Theories
Every small town has a store or two where it’s unclear what exactly the location does or sells. For example, where I grew up, there were three separate Persian rug stores. No one I knew had a Persian rug, and I promise you I never saw anyone entering or exiting the buildings. Could there be a massive marketplace for Persian rugs in the neighborhood that nobody talked about? Maybe — but what’s the fun in that?
Instead, we created our own conspiracies for what was going on. Maybe these stores were mafia fronts (a carpet is great for rolling up dead bodies!), or maybe they were money laundering houses. Who knows?
This woman has a similar concern. According to her, a bridal shop has been in her town for decades, and yet, it has never changed. No alterations to decorations, nothing, and the only attempt to contact the owner ended with him questioning why they were calling him then not returning any further calls.
You tell me: What do you think is going on here?
