You’d hope that your mortal enemy would be a human, but some of us aren’t so lucky.

If you develop a rivalry with a person, you can talk it out, try to figure out where the relationship went south and, eventually, resolve whatever issue came between you.

But if you have a rivalry with an animal, you’re fucked.

There’s no reasoning with a member of the animal kingdom, so once one of its members has decided you’re the enemy, that’s just something you’re going to have to deal with until the end of time.
