What would win in a fight between a fire hose and a flamethrower?

One would hope that the answer is, obviously, the fire hose. After all, if fire hoses are ineffective at putting out fires, what the hell are the firemen doing with those things?

Still, at the end of the day, we’re men of science, and we can’t be sure that a fire hose will actually beat a flamethrower until someone tests it out in the wild. Thankfully, that’s exactly what some crazy person did.
