Personally, I simply wouldn’t get under the ice.

As summer approaches, the desire to swim becomes ever-greater. However, some people can’t wait until warm weather, and instead, they decide to scratch that aquatic itch early by diving into freezing waters.

There are a whole host of reasons why this is a bad idea (number one, you can freeze your balls off; need I continue?). But among the most frightening reasons to avoid a winter swim is that you can get stuck under the ice, which appears to be what happened here.
