Unfortunate Woman Stuck on Ski Lift and Blasted With Freezing Cold Water after Pipe Bursts

On January 7th 2022, while guests were enjoying the slopes at Beech Mountain Ski Resort in North Carolina, one unlucky lady found herself on the business end of a geyser of freezing cold water as she was stranded on the ski lift.
A skier had crashed into a hydrant during 'snow making' operations causing the line to either burst or come disconnected sending a fountain of water spewing up into the air.
As you can see in the videos below, a guest who was on the ski lift fell victim to the icy blast as the stopped ski lift was directly above the spewing water as she sat there helplessly getting drenched in the freezing temperatures. Two people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A spokesperson for the resort stated:
"Our operations and safety team worked diligently to unload the lift and drain the system safely," Beech Mountain Resort management said in a statement. "We believe everyone is okay outside of the unfortunate situation, and operations are on a regular schedule."
