Total Badass Fights Off a Bear to Save His Dogs

We've all seen or heard some of the crazy news that evolves out of the southern peninsula state of Florida. From crazy methed up lunatics to bizarre and wtf news headlines, Florida never fails to be a source of entertainment if nothing else.
This "Florida man" story isn't like most of them. This guy actually did something awesome. When a bear charged into his porch to try to get to his dogs, he wrestled with the beast long enough for his dogs to escape to safety.
Officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) responded to an incident where a black bear injured a man on Wednesday evening in Daytona Beach. The man received non-life-threatening injuries from a bear while attempting to protect his dogs. The pets were not injured.
