TikTokers Are Using a Parenting App to Stalk Their Friends

They’re entering the panopticon, and they love it!

Not to be all “back in my day,” but something I don’t think the youngsters of today understand is how goddamn thankful anyone over the age of 25 is that they didn’t have to deal with the worst of social media when they were younger. Sure, the internet existed for them, but it wasn’t as pervasive as it is today — especially given just how online every child needs to be to have a social life nowadays.

Case in point, the tweens and teens of today are obsessed with an app called “Life 360.” While it appears to have been originally designed for parents monitoring the location of their children, kids are now voluntarily signing up for the app and monitoring each other — and, anecdotally, it’s causing some problems in their personal lives.

For them, however, it’s perfectly normal to know the exact GPS coordinates of all your friends at any given time. Hell, they’ll even make videos talking about it!
