Hurricane Ian was not a storm to be trifled with, and videos from around Florida have poured in documenting the immense power and damage this natural disaster has caused. From overpowering winds to surging floods, people lost homes and loved ones on a scale this country has not seen too many times.
This time-lapse video details the arrival of the storm surge to the Fort Myers Beach area, beginning with a trickle of water, and ending with a scene that might as well have been on the open ocean. Ultimately even the shack in our view gets washed away. Thankfully, it has been reported that the people staying in the house were able to escape safely, even after floating away.
