Taylor Hawkins Singing ‘Somebody to Love’ Is Chill-Inducing
Featured 03/29/2022
The late Foo Fighters' drummer takes lead vocals on Queen's classic hit 'Somebody to Love.'
The band has regularly covered the song on this most recent tour. Having Taylor Hawkins on lead vocals, while Dave Grohl jumps behind the drum kit.
This video was captured during the band's stop in Chile. Just one week before Hawkins passed away.
Obviously given the circumstances, and what we know now it just makes this performance that much more powerful. The energy and connection between Hawkins and Grohl is just something you don't see very often. You could tell that they were brothers both in life and on stage.
I'm not very good with death, especially when it involves someone who I didn't know personally. But music is wild like that. The Foo Fighters have been a part of my life since high school. So yeah it's almost like losing a friend. So speaking for anyone who has ever picked up a Foo Fighters' album, you will be missed Taylor.
