In case you don't know, a Rube Goldberg machine is a hilarious contraption that accomplishes an utterly simple task in a spectacularly complex way. You've seen them without knowing they had a name.
They're from way back in the shadow days before the internet, back when "hilarious contraptions" were all people needed to be entertained.
