Speedwalker Celebrates Too Early and Gets Passed At the Last Second
Her first mistake was becoming a speedwalker. But what truly brought her down was her own hubris.
With the finish line in sight and a flag already dropped around her neck, Laura Garcia-Caro of Spain was seen smiling and pumping her fist as she was all but guaranteed a first-place finish in the European Speed Walker's Championship.
As she took her foot off the gas, the woman walking alongside her, Lyudmyla Olyanovska of Ukraine, was putting it down heel to toe until she was across the finish line.
