Schwarzenegger 'Slap Fighting Championship' Debuts With One-Slap KO
Deadbeat_Dave Published 03/08/2022
Arnold Schwarzenegger and unlikely partner Logan Paul have teamed up to create the Slap Fighting Championship (SFC), bringing a slap-for-slap combat popularized in Russia to the United States with recognizable names for the first time. While it sounds... undeniably hilarious... some of the slaps are downright brutal -- with even a solid one-slap knockout that left an opponent out cold on the ground.
While few internet-dwellers are strangers to "slap boxing" clips that do the rounds every now and then, Schwarzenegger and Paul's Slap Fighting Championship constitutes the first major "slap boxing league' in the US, holding their first match over the weekend. And it's just as crazy and relatively WTF as you'd expect a slap boxing championship run by the Governator and a Paul brother.
But that doesn't mean it isn't fun to watch. The rules are simple -- opponents give and take open-handed strikes to the face with no dodging/mitigation allowed. Combatants have all the time they need to wind up and strike with full force, with each round of slaps being scored very much like a boxing or MMA match.
Except it's just so goddamn silly.
