Robot Dog Tries to Be Polite but Can't Help Being Super Creepy
Featured 05/12/2020
This creature may have been built to help mankind, but it feels extremely creepy.
In Singapore, a local government released a robotic dog into park this month to patrol the area and help enforce social distancing measures. It doesn't exactly reprimand people or bark at them for getting too close to one another, but it tracks and records a lot of movement data.
If this machine looks familiar, you probably remember it from any number of the videos released by Boston Dynamics, the robot manufacturing company that created this dog-like model a few years ago.
Back then it already seemed capable of taking out a human. Now that it's out in the wild, is it getting a better sense of how to plan an attack?
If anyone knows the name of this robo-pooch, let us know in the comments.
