Rick Owens' Fashion Cultists All Try To Out Do One Another
Though fashion designer Rick Owens may be famed for his avant-garde approach to fashion, sending models down the runway nude, wearing gray paint, and even other models (Rick Owens walked so Tommy Cash could run) the attendees at his recent Paris Fashion Week show got a little too into the spirit.
On Thursday, June 22, several guests at Owen’s Spring/Summer 2024 fashion show at Palais de Tokyo did their damndest to stand out amid Owens’ designs, sporting a whole host of absurdist looks, ranging from extreme shoulder pads to holographic pants and even entire gimp suits.
Yet, more than any others at Owens’ runway presentation, the aforementioned Cash, an Estonian musician who has garnered fame in fashion circles for their eye-catching style, managed to steal the show, rolling up in a full-on mime cosplay. Donning a long-sleeved black and white top with yellow suspenders, a black pair of shorts, and matching striped leggings.
Cash completed the look with a yellow Crocs-inspired pair of MSCHF’s Big Red Boots, a matching umbrella hat, complex mime makeup, and an oversized glass of wine, which he sipped on as models strutted before him.
It’s called fashion sweety, look it up.
