"Rick and Morty" Sept. 11/Pearl Harbor Joke May Have Gone Too Far

Rick and Morty isn't new to including 9/11 mentions in their show, but the latest episode had a joke that managed to be both risky and technically inoffensive at the same time.
In the clip, Rick and Morty are flying a space ship past two tall buildings meant to resemble the World Trade Center towers. Rather than blow up the buildings, they drive around them, only to discover a shipping bay that they decide to eviscerate à la Pearl Harbor.
Joking about national tragedies is always a tricky move, and here the cartoon does it in a way that feels wrong without actually going that far.
Is it a cheap joke or actually clever? Either way, it's better than anymore stupid Pickle Rick jokes.
