Playing a Bass Guitar Using a Violin Bow Sounds Pretty Darn Cool

Music is one of those things that can transcend the bounds and borders of humanity, as it is one of the universal cultural aspects of all human societies. There's something truly magical that connects us all through the sounds and feelings evoked by music. It is an art form of arranging sounds in time through the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. General definitions of music include common elements such as pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics (loudness and softness), and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture (which are sometimes termed the "color" of a musical sound).
Different styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these elements. Music is performed with a vast range of instruments and vocal techniques ranging from singing to rapping, to instrumental and a capella.
From the uploder: I used cello strings for this, which are essentially flatwounds that are somewhere between bass and guitar strings in thickness. Flatwounds definitely sound much better when bowing, for anyone who's interested in trying this!
