People Are Now Spray Painting Italy’s Pickpockets

Want to avoid being pickpocketed? Look out for the people with a line of white spray paint across their face!

Italy has a major problem with pickpockets. One insurance company claimed that, after looking through reviews of major tourist destinations, Italy had the most reported instances of pickpocketing, with the Trevi Fountain coming in as the number one place where people get their items snatched.

In response to these pickpockets, some have taken on the role of a vigilante, working to rid the streets of pickpockets by naming and shaming them. Now, they’ve stepped up their game a bit by just hitting them with a base coat of spray paint.
