New York’s Former Mayor Filmed Himself Pouring Coconut All Over a Slice of Pizza and Then Eating It

Someone explain to me what’s going on here.

New York is known for having great pizza, while New Yorkers are known for being total dicks about it. Yes, we know that the standard of pizza is probably higher in your city, but at the end of the day, it’s pizza — dough, sauce, cheese, toppings. It’s really not that hard to figure out.

Still, this arrogance about pizza has given birth to a variety of rules regarding its consumption. You have to fold the slice, don’t put pineapple on it, etc. So where does coconut fit into all of this?

To summarize, New York’s former mayor is doing weird things. Specifically, he posted a video of him quietly pouring coconut shavings onto a pizza and then eating it crust-first. This is apparently a political ad, but all it’s making me want to do is wretch.
