Gene Simmons of Kiss Almost Falls Off Elevated Stage
Chet Donnelly Published 08/23/2022
KISS is one of those iconic rock bands that even younger fans know of or have at least heard some of their music. The band was formed in New York City in 1973 by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss. They are perhaps most recognized or known for their wild face paint and stage outfits, shocking live performances, which featured fire-breathing, blood-spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, levitating drum kits, and pyrotechnics.
During an October 2021 concert in Tampa, Florida, the band members were lowered down from the ceiling on individual mini-stage platforms. Because of the unleveled lowering of the stages, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley have to grab ahold of the rope and brace themselves so they don't fall off of the moving platform as they are lowered onto the stage.
