On last night's episode of American Idol, Katy Perry suffered something of a wardrobe malfunction while singing her 2010 hit, Teenage Dream. The singer literally tore herself a new one squatting down mid-song, ripping the seat of her pants open and prompting an American Idol logo censure and a few moments of scrambling as Perry asked for tape.
In a spate of bizarre coincidence, Perry and her fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie happened to be singing the lyrics "I'ma get your heart racing in my skin-tight jeans" just as the pants-ripping moment came. A few moments of scrambling later, and Perry was getting her a*s taped shut on stage.
Somehow, this isn't the first time Perry has had her butt taped shut on an American Idol stage. Back in 2018 the singer suffered a similar wardrobe malfunction when standing from her chair, only to be taped up by a producer then too. Kinda suspicious?
