Jo Koy Throws Writers Under the Bus During His Unbelievably Bad Golden Globes Monologue
Last night was the 81st annual Golden Globes and Jo Koy's opening monologue was one to be forgotten. The comedian, who only had eight days to prepare for the show (we know that because he said it on stage after multiple jokes bombed) threw his writers under the bus while going off script in what will live on as the worst opening monologue on award show history.
He tried his best though, riffing on the hot topics including Taylor Swift being in the audience and pitting Barbie and Oppenheimer against one another.
"Who hired this guy?" was the reaction of the millions (or thousands) who actually tuned in to watch the show live. His set was so bad, that he quickly started trending on Twitter, which to his credit, brought more attention to the Globes.
Okay maybe I'm being too hard, but he did make on good joke, while talking to Robert DeNiro who was in the crowd he said "Your last performance might have been the best of your life. How did you get her pregnant at 80?"
