Influencer's Idyllic Greece Vacation Gets Ruined By Wild Fire Smoke
Fiona Michelle is an influencer quite accustomed to traveling the world for work and leisure. Just last month she was in Turin Italy to "shoot a campaign," and last weekend she decided to treat herself to a quick vacation on the Greek island of Rhodes. Except this time, things went haywire in less than 24 hours.
Like in other parts of the world, unprecedented heatwaves have led to severe wildfires across Greece and Italy, with crews finding it difficult to combat the blazes. Last week, two pilots were killed when their firefighting plane crashed.
Michelle showed off the smoke-filled sky and her hotel's evacuation. Eventually, she was transported off of Rhodes by boat, along with the other resort guests.
"It’s so sad when Greece is such a beautiful place," Caitlin commented.
When climate change gets in the way, it seems like not even influencers can fake the perfect Mediterranean vacation.
