Hundreds of Birds Suddenly Drop Dead from The Sky in Mexico

In an absolutely bizarre video released by Chihuaha State Police, we see hundreds of Yellow-Headed Blackbirds plummeting to earth in a Chihuahua neighborhood, leaving the streets littered with dead birds. Theories abound as to what could have caused this -- toxic chemicals, electrical overcharges, or an evasive maneuver gone wrong?
Experts say the most likely cause was a bird of prey -- perhaps a peregrine falcon or a hawk -- forcing the flock downwards in a maneuver called 'flushing.' Proponents of the flushing theory point to the way the birds are seen moving in a wave at the beginning of the clip, a defensive survival tactic similar to the way individuals in a school of fish or herd of zebras group together to avoid standing out to predators.
Others argue that electrical arcing may have caused one of the migratory birds -- which had arrived from Canada to escape the cold -- to spread electricity from an overcharged cable to the rest of the flock.
