Tourette's syndrome is an interesting condition. While most people think of it as randomly swearing, there’s a lot more to it than that (though, yes, there is admittedly a lot of random cursing).
For example, people with Tourette’s often have “tics,” which typically take the form of involuntary movements and vocalizations. Amazingly, these tics are suggestible — meaning that if you’re someone who’s prone to tics, and you’re seated next to someone with a tendency to tic, you could set off a chain reaction that lasts for minutes.
That’s exactly what happened at a “Tic-Con” hosted by the Tourette Association. In fairness, you guys were kind of begging for it with a name like that!
