German Minister Tries and Fails to Break Champagne Bottle on Ship

That’s a bad sign, right?
There’s an old tradition with ships that involves christening them by breaking a bottle of champagne across their bow. If the bottle fails to break, the ship is said to be cursed for all of its seafaring days.
Most people try their best, understandably, to avoid this situation. For example, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck was given a special device to ensure that the bottle would break — and somehow, he still fucked it up.
