Footage from the Most Nonsensical Hate Crime of All Time Has Just Been Released

This is already proving to be one of the scariest, stupidest news stories of the year.

On Saturday, February 15th, a 27-year-old Florida plumber named Mordechai Brafman saw two people driving a car. Normal, right? Well, the problem, in Brafman’s mind, was that he allegedly believed these people were Palestinian. And so, he opened fire upon the car, sending off 17 shots and later telling police that he believed that he shot and killed both of them.

The problem? Well, all of it, but one of the *many* problems is that the people were not Palestinian, but instead, Israeli.

This set off a whole kerfuffle in which one of the people struck allegedly claimed, in a now-deleted Facebook post, that he was a victim of an anti-Semitic attack, and that he wished “death to Arabs.” I guess the attack must have damaged his sense of irony.

Regardless, both of the victims are out of the hospital and on track to make a full recovery, and Brafman has been apprehended and charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder.
