Fisherman Eats a Bucket of ‘Slime Eels’

Looks like someone got a little too excited!

These are “slime eels,” which are exactly what they sound like (except they’re not technically eels). When the hagfish, as its known, gets provoked, it can release more white goo than a virgin on prom night — only in the case of the slime eel, this goop expands to about 10,000 its size in less than a second.

Regardless of how gross they are, this group of guys decided to catch a bunch of them to see if they would make good lobster bait. While that’s still unclear, they also decided to eat one, because why not, I guess. The result? The guy called it one of the worst things he’s ever eaten.
