Deer have a problem: They love ramming into each other with their antlers. But you know what tangles really easily with antlers? Other antlers!

This results in them getting stuck to each other with relative frequency, and given that they can be a bit bullheaded, there’s no way to help them untangle them without risking your own safety. That’s why, when it must be done, experts often just slice the things off, leaving them with an embarrassing gap in their crown to remind them of what they’ve done.

And oh yeah, don’t cry for them — these things grow back every year.
