Dude Recovers After Hospital Literally Tried to Harvest His Organs

The phrase “new fear unlocked” gets thrown around a lot, but, I mean, Jesus.

This is TJ Hoover. After suffering a drug overdose, Hoover was deemed brain-dead at the hospital. While things didn’t sit right with the family, the hospital still, per NPR, pressed forward, preparing to harvest organs from his body in order to provide them to those who needed transplants.

But unbeknownst to the hospital, Hoover was not, in fact, braindead, and has since made a partial recovery.

This has, naturally, led to a whole brouhaha in which everyone is blaming everybody else for the mistake, and while no organs were actually taken from Hoover, it still doesn’t feel great that this happened at all. But hey, shoutout to Hoover for his partial recovery — let’s hope your organs stay intact and in your body for years to come.
