Dad Freaks Out After Realizing His Kid Has Never Seen Commercials
We really accepted a lot of B.S. from cable providers for a very, very long time. With a cable package costing north of $50 per month, you would be given access to millions of shows interrupted every few minutes by commercials. Seriously, without the commercials, a standard half-hour sitcom is just 22 minutes — that’s shorter than the YouTube videos I put on while I eat!
Now, we have streaming services that are commercial-free while still being less than cable. How is this possible? Well, all of them lose a lot of money, but they also accept your monthly fee as payment rather than that plus additional advertising money. Crazy, right?
Given this, many children today have grown up in a world where they genuinely haven’t seen a commercial. This dad realizes that in real time after having a conversation with his daughter, and his reaction is pretty rich.
