Chaos Ensues After Casino Has to Pay Out $1.2 Million in One Month
If you’re in Vegas, leave. That’s because a.) it’s Vegas, and b.) the city is about to be overrun with people trying to take advantage of the closure of the Mirage.
Essentially, the Mirage has said that, no matter what happens, it is going to get rid of $1.6 million dollars in one month, with $1.2 million of that allocated to slots. For example, if the 30th comes around and they’ve only paid out $500k? Well, you, sir, could be in line for a cool $1.1 million!
At least, that’s what the current visitors of the Mirage seem to think. With the tantalizing promise of a big payday, hordes of people have flocked to the casino to try to be the big winner, stacked odds against them be damned. Here’s what that looks like on the floor.
It's absolute pandemonium at the Mirage. $1.6 million in unclaimed progressive jackpots must be paid out before the casino ceases operations, due to Nevada gaming regulations. pic.twitter.com/ctOKRFO1wI
