Holy political favors, Batman! That's the allegation against San Mateo County Sheriff Carlos Bolanos for sending a four-man team across the country last week, to raid the garage that builds Batmobiles. Atherton realtor, Sam Anagnostou, ordered a $210,000 Batmobile from this Indiana builder. Mark Racop told ABC7 News Anagnostou missed a payment, that he couldn't reach him for more than eight months, and that he moved the realtor from the first position to the ninth customer in line for a new Batmobile.
Dan Noyes of the I-Team was informed by sources inside the sheriff's office that Bolanos transported those individuals out of state as a favor for a friend who had ordered a Batmobile. And now, the I-Team has some of the receipts for that trip that was paid for with your tax dollars.
Following the I-Team report, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors is acting. According to ABC7 News, San Mateo County Sheriff Carlos Bolanos dispatched four investigators to Indiana last month to search the sole shop that produces replicas of the Batmobile that have DC Comics licenses.
