10-Year-Old Leads Police On High Speed Chase in Stolen Car
It's every child's dream to take their parents' car for a joyride, but this 10-year-old in Buena Vista Michigan got to lead the MPS Third District police department on an entire chase.
The 10-year-old reportedly stole the 2017 Buick Enclave from relatives, and was on his way back to home to Detroit to see his mother. Police were alerted of the stolen vehicle on I-75 by OnStar, and multiple drivers also called the police to report a child driving erratically.
After police tried to stop the vehicle themselves, OnStar was able to to disable the car, and it ground to a halt against a guard railing. The child then ran on foot, before being caught and taken to a juvenile detention center.
"Sounds like someone missed their mom. I hope he has since been reunited with her," @waterhouse_jen commented.
Luckily, nobody was hurt in this youngster's foray into grand theft auto. As @KambreeLynnPics commented, "Had he been driving in Georgia no one would have noticed."
The Trooper was behind the suspect for about a mile with lights & sirens activated while OnStar disabled the Buick, allowing for a safe stop. Thankfully, nobody was injured in this incident. Note: there is no sound in this video. pic.twitter.com/nqSwdpm4eI
