Before any other streaming service ruled the world, there was already a place where people went to escape, distract, and comfort themselves, a place that truly mattered, and that was MTV.
MTV wasn’t your average channel, it was a cultural movement. From music videos that blew our minds to reality shows that made us question how the world worked, MTV was chaotic but cool. It gave generations the soundtrack of their youth, showcased the fashion we tried to copy and delivered moments we still remember and quote today.
The beginning of MTV marked a major shift in how music was consumed and promoted. This was where pop culture happened. It didn’t matter when you tuned in, after school, late at night, or while sneakily avoiding chores, MTV was always on. It paved the way for much to come.
