This year, fake news seems to have faded and been replaced by something worse: real news that we wish was fake. Between the CEO shooter, RFK’s brain worm, Donald working at McDonalds, and Lt. Dan of Florida, this year’s news made us all feel we were living in a simulation.

Obviously, a presidential race ups the ante on bizarre stories, but there were also some fringe stories that had nothing to do with the freak show that is the government these days. Kanye West was on his usual insanity, the Hawk Tuah girl scammed millions, and a guy got arrested for cloning a goat.

If you thought the news was normal this year, here’s your reminder that it was everything but that.
