People Reveal What Ruined Religion For Them

Religion is a highly positive thing for some people. For others, not so much.

The moment I lost my sense of religion is when I started to study other world religions and realized most of them were saying the same things - be kind, spread love, don't be a d**k. Hilariously (to me at least), they also all insisted that only THEIR way of doing these things was correct and everyone else was wrong and that there was no possible way you could do the above WITHOUT them and their "unique" framework of living.

I've known good and bad people across all parts of the religious spectrum. In my experience, believers and nonbelievers alike have pretty equal chances of being nice or d**kish, which tells me that religion doesn't necessarily have much to do with someone's personal moral compass.
