For some reason, offices think they have the right to influence what their employees do outside of the strict responsibilities of work. Some even have a culture of hazing the new hires, like a college frat or something.
That's what happened to one man telling his story in the r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit, after being hired for a senior position.
"I was told multiple times that I was expected to provide donuts for the entire office," he said. His description included specific pressure from two donut-headed co-workers. Realizing he had to buy something, he decided to cave and get everybody donuts. Just in his own way...
