The PTA is one of those things that we consider a necessary evil - a national body with local chapters everywhere that coordinate between parents and teachers to raise funds for the school. Sounds great in theory, but it often turns into a gaggle of soccer moms vying for more power while the kids who it's supposedly all for end up getting less and less.
One brilliant woman decided enough was enough and destroyed her local PTA from within before making a much better organization of her own. Parents, take note: THIS is how it could be!
