History is a fascinating subject that I honestly believe we don't spend nearly enough time getting people excited about. A lot of it has to do with what we're taught - a lot of lazier history curriculums just want you to memorize dates - "Columbus sailed the ocean blue back in 1492," and other crap like that - without actually gaining a real understanding of what was happening at the time and how it mattered. History classes also have a disappointing tendency to leave out strange or salacious details about the people it glorifies - like how Benjamin Franklin was a notorious ladies' man well into his 70s, was likely a member of a notorious underground sex club, and preferred MILFs over young ingenues because they were more experienced and "so grateful."
