Employee Gets Fired For Not Responding to Email Within 24hrs
We all make mistakes at our jobs, but could you even call this a mistake?
1.
This employee worked for a company that had a boss with so many red flags. She got upset when they took a single day off for mental health and also made fun of people who worked for her and had to go on social services.
The employee had a meeting with the boss about their mental health day and thought it went well until their boss sent an email that was the total opposite of how their meeting went and actually said they were disappointed that they didn't come to work. Since the employee didn't respond within 24 hours, the boss decided the best thing to do was fire them.
They went to r/antiwork to get some perspective and some legal advice on how to move forward, to which most people responded by saying that this was a total violation and their boss deserved to be sued.
