'Barbie' Posters Go Viral as Meme Edits Flood Twitter

It may have taken nearly a quarter century, but the sentiment of Aqua’s “Barbie Girl” was finally vindicated today, proving that we are all Barbie girls living in a Barbie world … at least if the latest Barbie movie memes are any indication.

On Tuesday, April 4, Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Barbie flick reiterated its status as the most hyped film of 2023, releasing its trailer and a series of cast posters to mega-viral fanfare.

“Meet our Barbies and Kens,” the film’s official Twitter page captioned the first look at the promotional snaps, which have since garnered more than 6.3 million views.

Featuring the movie’s main characters posing within a Mattel-inspired logo, each Barbie character boasting a blurb about their profession – “This Barbie is a mermaid,” reads Dua Lipa’s poster – whereas each Ken is, well, just that. “He’s just Ken,” reads Ryan Gosling’s poster, who plays one of the film’s many Ken-s.
