Some of The Worst Drugs in the World
1.
Scopolamine - Often used in Colombia, it comes from the Nightshade family and called Devil's Breath. Its powdered form is blown on one's face and results in the victim losing all form of self-awareness while remaining functional. People have emptied their bank accounts and helped rob their own homes while affected. The next day, they are left with no recollection of events. Scopolamine is termed, "the world's most dangerous drug".
2.
DMHP/ Dimethylheptylpyran - A government-created form of marijuana which is so potent it is instantly incapacitating. 2/10,0000th of a gram is all that is needed to completely fuck a person. Its original purpose was for non-lethal chemical attacks. Spray DMHP over an enemy area so military could walk in and out before anyone knew what had happened. Plans for DMHP were dropped in favor of other chems.
3.
Rimonabant - Known as the "anti-pot", rimonabant was developed by those who figured if a drug with the opposite effects of marijuana was created, it could be used to curb munchies. Turns out it worked too well. People were becoming depressed and suicidal. And unlike pot, this one is still legal in many countries.
4.
DIPT - Yes, this is an actual shirt you can buy. And if you survive DIPT, I guess you're allowed to wear it. DIPT is a hallucinogen with a very specific effect. The payoff for using is severe, maddening ringing and other sounds in the ears lasting up to several weeks. Extreme pain in the ears often accompanies the audio hallucinations. Oh, and it's not banned in the U.S.
5.
Bromo Dragonfly - Named for the way its molecular layout resembles a dragonfly, Bromo is a nightmare hallucinogen far more potent than LSD, and extremely dangerous. It causes spasms and seizing of the blood vessels and veins. Amputations due to deadening of the limbs is common with BD. Trips are described as "being taken to hell and back".
6.
DNP - A fat-burning drug which works so well the results are downright horrific. Metabolic systems go into such overdrive people's bodies will literally cook from the inside out. On DNP, the body cannot store energy; everything taken in is immediately metabolized. It was banned for this back in 1938, yet is still available online and still used. Photos float around the net of the gory effects of bodies "cooked" by DNP.
7.
Etorphine - A semi-synthetic drug 5,000 times stronger than heroin. Because normal opiates are kid stuff, apparently. Etorphine is so potent and deadly that just skin contact can cause fatal overdoses. Even junkies won't touch the stuff. The smallest amounts are used only for incapacitating large zoo animals.
8.
Krokodil - Know those "Faces of Meth" galleries? A lot of those people aren't victims of meth, but krokodil. Cheap and effective, this drug produces similar effects to heroin, but with nasty, flesh-eating side-effects. It's named for its tendency to turn users' skin into that of a crocodile, as byproducts dissolve tissue down to the bone. Horrific photos float around the net.
