6 Comedians Who (Allegedly) Stole Jokes
1.
Amy Schumer took some heat for her closing bit on her special that aired this past Saturday on her special Amy Schumer: Live at The Apollo. Some felt it resembled a Patrice O’Neal joke too closely. Did it? You can decide for yourself by watching here.
2.
Carlos Mencina vs. Joe Rogan: In 2007 Joe Rogan confronted Carlos Mencia on stage at The Comedy Store in Hollywood.
3.
The joke in question: Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted to build a wall on the Mexican-American border. But who were they going to get to build it? *hold for applause break* In case you were wondering, nobody confronted any of them over how hack the joke was. Watch that confrontation here.
4.
Dane Cook vs. Louis CK: An episode of Louie brought the Louis, Dane Cook controversy to the next level. Here they were on TV discussing what everyone had speculated for years prior.
5.
The joke in question: Assholes are itchy. That’s pretty much the entire joke, that at certain points in their pasts, these dudes have had really itchy assholes. With a joke that smart, you can understand why they had to fight so hard for such valuable intellectual property.
6.
The Fat Jew vs. Everyone on the Internet: In 2015, Josh “The Fat Jewish” Ostrovsky was ridiculed heavily for obtaining millions of Instagram and Twitter followers by reposting other people’s jokes without citation.
7.
The joke in question: Every joke he ever told. He even allegedly paid interns to attend comedy shows of lower level comedians in an attempt to acquire content illegally. So you know, fuck this guy.
9.
Many have accused Leary of not just stealing Hicks' jokes, but his entire act. I guess it wasn't just that they were both angry white guys smoking cigarettes on stage.
10.
Jay Mohr actually admitted to stealing jokes while on SNL. It was nice of him to come clean about it, but I still hate him.
