Witch doctors are a really fascinating, cool, and creepy part of culture. Back before medicine was advanced, people used to rely on magic, superstition, and ritual to heal ailments. The result was the witch doctor. 

Just about every culture has its own version of the witch doctor, and they all look pretty cool. In Europe, during the plague, they had the prototypes of hazmat suits that made them look like cursed gentleman ducks.

In Russia, Orthodox healers are probably the closest thing we’ve ever gotten to having real-life wizards. All throughout Africa, there are people who proudly claim the title of witch doctor, and some of them are still around. There are contemporary photos of these shamans brewing potions, wearing skulls, and donning some cool ceremonial garb.

It’s unknown if these people have ever actually healed anyone or cast genuine spells but we don’t care. These demon binders make for some great internet content.
