40 Dr. Seuss Artworks That Reveal His Dark Side
Dr. Seuss is of course famous for his colorful, light-hearted children’s books.
It’s also come to light he had a bit of a dark side. He made a bunch of racist cartoons, and he cheated on his dying wife who eventually committed suicide. For some reason, there’s no indication of this evil in the pages of Fox in Socks, Hop On Pop, or Yertle The Turtle. But if you dig deeper into his work, his nightmarish mind was put on display.
Aside from his children’s books, Seuss was a prolific painter and sculptor and a lot of his pieces are pretty messed up. What’s cool is it’s still basically the same style as his books, but plunged into an abyss of terror.
If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if the Lorax took a trip through Dante’s Inferno, this is the gallery for you.
