Photoshop has been around for going on 35 years now. The computer application software is used to edit and manipulate digital images. Photoshop was developed in 1987 by two American brothers Thomas and John Knoll, who sold the distribution license to Adobe Systems Incorporated in 1988. A few years later In 1995, Adobe purchased the full rights to Photoshop from the Knoll brothers for a cool $34.5 million dollars. Not a bad chunk of change for a decade's worth of work.

Photoshop continues to be one of the leading photo editing and digital image tools on the market along with a robust collection of Adobe apps known as the creative suite. From professional photography, and digital and graphic design, to the creation of memes, Photoshop has become a name synonymous with the photography and design industry.
