The internet is a very complex environment. Literally billions of people have easy access to nearly limitless knowledge thanks to this technology; you can study almost anything about anything, communicate with practically anyone about almost any subject, and enlighten yourself with an endless supply of cool and interesting stuff.

On the other hand, the internet is full of bizarre and rather WTF things. Similar to a rainforest, you're just as likely to come across a breathtaking waterfall or lovely flower as you are a nest of flesh-eating ants or unsettling parasite that lives in the water.
