There are so many secrets about Disneyland that people dont know. From basketball courts to feral cats, nobody knows exactly how many secrets there are.
1. Once youre inside the temple and have made it to the caves, theres a part of the line that looks like a bridge. Over head there will be spikes in the ceiling and some bricks will have a special diamond logo carved into them. As you walk through, theres a weird bamboo post that if you pull, something special will happen! Youll hear a loud noise and the ceiling will drop just a little bit! As you come to the part of the line where a large obelisk sits, you will notice a sign that says do not pull the rope. Pull on it! You will hear the person inside say something to you!

2. Inside the Matterhorn is a quarter of a basketball court. Disney didn't like to waste any space, so he asked the Matterhorn climbers what theyd like inside and they voted for a basketball hoop. Later a ping pong table was added. Employees of Matterhorn are allowed to take their breaks there and have some fun!
3. Walt Disney was so busy travelling between Burbank and the construction site of Disneyland that he just had an apartment built at the top of the Fire Station on Main Street. He would always turn the light on to let workers know when he was in the apartment. In remembrance of Walt Disney, the light is always kept on now in the apartment.

4. All across Main Street there are dedications to those who have been an important part of the success of Disney. Some are characters, or stories, while others are real people who contributed to the park or other parts of Disney. For example, Walt Disneys window is located at the Main Street Cinema and it is labeled Disneyland Casting Agency.
5. Steve Martin started off by selling guidebooks at Disneyland on the weekends for a little extra cash. During his free time he would visit the Magic Shop. After learning all the tricks, it was no surprise to find him eventually working at the Magic Shop, showing all the patrons tricks he learned.
6. The Lilly Belle Pullman Car is used to give VIP guests a private tour of the park. It is furnished with antiques and has stained glass windows. Every once in a while tickets to ride this special car are given to the every day park visitors so if somebody offers you them, make sure and take the tickets!
7. All around the park youll find little snippets of history, that most people wont recognize as anything more than common construction. There is a brick wall in Main Street that has bricks on it that dont match in size or shape. These were the bricks that Walt used to figure out what size and shaped bricks he wanted to use in Disneyland. The wall is located near the lockers.
8. Main Street is actually designed after one of Walt Disneys favorite towns, Marceline Missouri. Walt grew up in this down, and he wanted to share his fond memories with his guests.
9. Disneylands address is 1313. The 13th letter in the alphabet is m. The address spells mm, which stands for Mickey Mouse.

10. You need to know a specific phrase to ask in order to do this, but you can in fact view the wheelhouse of the ship and if you are deemed worth, you are show how the ship is even driven and allowed to steer the ship! You can also get to see some pictures of Walt Disney on the ship and meet the captain! Its up to you to figure out what the secret pass-phrase is though.
11. The park actually releases about 200 feral cats each night to catch and eat the mice in the park. During the day they rest in secret cat houses. If you see a cat roaming around during the day, its more than likely that this is one of those feral cats out on a walk.
12. Right outside the gate of Fantasy-land youll notice a gold stake in the ground. Most people believe this is the center of the original Disneyland, but its actually a survey marker. It was used to make sure Main Street was centered with the castle.

13. The castle drawbridge is real and able to lift! Only lifted twice in its existence, its mainly used as a way to block patrons from entering. It was lifted on opening day, and then another time when Fantasy-land was being refurbished.
14. The Disney family crest is above the gates of Sleeping Beautys Castle. The crest was added in 1960 and is located directly above the drawbridge.
15. Everybody has seen the brass apple outside Snow Whites Scary Adventure, but what most dont know is that it does something if you rub it! If you rub the apple, youll hear a clap of thunder and the witch will start to cackle loudly!

16. The tiki room was originally going to be a restaurant, which is why there are bathrooms on the outside. Its the only attraction in the park with attached bathrooms, all other bathrooms have their own buildings away from rides.
17. The luxury Dream Suite apartment was meant to entertain VIP guests during special events. Dorethe Redmund, a famous actress, helped decorate the apartment which includes a living room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an open air patio. Park guests are randomly selected to stay inside the suite!
18. In the Grand Ballroom, theres a gigantic spider. If you look closely, you can see a bullet hole in the glass paneling. It is said that a child with either a slingshot or bb gun most likely fired at the window and broke it. Because the glass was too expensive to fix, they just covered it with a huge spider web.

19. Club 33 is the infamous, very exclusive club located within Disneyland Park. The inconspicuous door is painted a drab green, which helps keep the location secret. The only marker to signify youre in the right place is the 33 to the right of the door. There is a very long line of people who want to join the club, and its incredibly pricey as well. Youll be lucky if you ever get to visit it.
20. The huge organ in the Haunted Mansion is actually from a movie. Its the same organ seen inside the Nautilus in the movie 20,000 leagues under the sea.
21. Splash Mountain was originally called Flash Mountain because of the camera flash inside of the mountain. Thats why theres the ability to see your pictures at the end of the ride. Previously workers had to manually pull inappropriate pictures from the system so nobody saw, but now its all automated.

22. While most just think the tombstones located in the Haunted Mansion are just for show, theyre actually real people who were some of the first imagineers of Disneyland. As a sign of respect and remembrance theyre included. The tombstones are also riddled with inside jokes among the imaingeers.
23. The Indiana Jones ride used to be a parking lot. The parking lot is actually where the line is, so you can still see remainders of the parking stall lines. Inside the screening room if you look back at the protector you will notice an Eeyore sign. This is because it used to be the Eeyore area of the parking lot.
24. There are some hidden characters inside the Winnie the Pooh ride. Toward the exit of the ride if you look behind you, there are characters form Country Bear Jamboree visible hiding in the ride! You must be in the first row in order to see them.

25. They call it nosseum green. It is a very specific shade of green that Disney Imagineers created. All of the buildings and unattractive things such as trash cans are painted this color so that you dont notice them as much. It is supposed to be the most unobtrusive shade of the spectrum and is suppose to disappear into the background.
26. Main street and Tomorrowland are set in two very special years. Main Street is set in 1910, and Tomorrowland is set in 1986. These years are the years of Haleys comet.
27. There are several tunnels underneath Disneyland for the purpose of taking out the trash and deliveries. The tunnels aren't extensive and dont connect. Theyre used so that deliveries and things aren't noticed by the public and dont take away from the magical experience.

28. George Lucas makes a special appearance in Star Tours. At the end of the ride, right when you crash into the fuel truck there is a man that ducks out of the way and picks up a phone.
29. When Walt Disney opened the park he would not allow cast members to have facial hair so the park would be distinguished form sleazy carnivals of another time. After 60 years the rule has been removed, but there will be no cast member with dwarf lengthen beards!
