25 Bad Behaviors That Are Still Socially Acceptable

"Toxic" is a word we use to identify unacceptable behavior. And on paper, this creates a better world.

In reality, there are many toxic behaviors we just keep tolerating. And here is our roundup of the worst behaviors that are still socially acceptable.

1.

People tend to give drunk people misbehaving a pass if they regularly do it, "Oh don't mind Tom, he's just drunk.” That just reinforces that toxic behavior.

2.

The “customer is always right” attitude.

3.

Verbally abusing minimum wage employees who don't make the rules. If I could change the laws tomorrow I'd encourage businesses to ban pieces of garbage like these that can't operate in public. The Starbucks barista shouldn't have to pay for your sh*tty attitude.

4.

In the US, I'd say it's workplace bullying. And then the companies blame the victim and say things like, "Well, they just didn't fit in with the 'culture' here." I'm sure culture in some workplaces is important, but whenever I hear employers or recruiters talk about "culture" I just hear "abuse."

5.

Smashing your spouse’s face into the wedding cake at your reception.

Oh my god, there’s this thing right now where some Latina women are like unashamed and calling themselves “tóxica”. They’re admitting their jealousy, their pettiness. And then there are guys, even calling their girlfriends toxic. “La tóxica de mi novia” but like it’s funny, like it’s cute and or just normal. I’ve seen SHIRTS labeled “tóxica”. It’s not cute. It needs to stop.
