25 Stellar Movies That Don't Have Happy Endings
1.
Fox and the Hound. Yeah, yeah, they‘re not enemies anymore, but that deep friendship is gone and will never return. It died alongside their childhood and it makes me cry just thinking about it. They are now strangers living in different worlds with only their memory thinking, “You know my best buddy from years ago. Hope he‘s good.” -u/JAR_Melethril
2.
Seeking A Friend For The End of the World What I loved was how subtly and gradually it changed. Started out really funny. Ended much more serious. -u/halcyon94
3.
Seven. Perfect ending. Brad Pitt put a clause in his contract that if the studio tried to change the ending because it didn’t “test well” that they wouldn’t be able to use any of his footage. That movie would have sucked if the ending were any different. Well played Brad, well played. -u/juliango
4.
Bladerunner. There's actually two versions. The original theatrical release had a completely out-of-nowhere happy ending tacked on at studio insistence, but the director's cut returned to the original, much darker end. -u/cryptoengineer
6.
Green Mile. My friends and I watched this movie. It was Tom Hanks and we knew it is sad. But hell, we were all sobbing the whole movie and cried in the end. Great movie but would never watch again fosho. -u/a3rt3m1s
